Verzorgingstips van Forest Bloom: Laat je planten stralen!

Care Tips from Forest Bloom: Let your plants shine!

At Forestbloom, we want your plants to not only survive but also thrive. Whether you're the proud owner of a living Monstera, a low-maintenance Sansevieria, a pet-friendly Calathea, or one of our lifelike artificial plants, these tips will help you give your greenery the love it deserves. Here are our best care tips, straight from the heart of our family business!

1. Know your plant

Every plant has its own character. Read the care instructions that come with your plant or check the product description on forestplants.nl. For example, a cactus needs little water, while a Calathea likes a humid environment. Tip: Make a list of your plants and their needs, so you always know what they require!

2. Light: Find the right spot

Light requirements: Some plants, like the Ficus, prefer indirect sunlight, while others, like the Sansevieria, also thrive in a shady corner.

  • Tip: Rotate your plants a quarter turn occasionally so they grow evenly.

Artificial plants: Our artificial plants don't need light – perfect for dark spaces! Place them wherever you want for instant greenery, without any worries.

3. Water: Not too much, not too little

How much water? Most plants prefer constant, slight moisture. Check the soil: does it feel dry up to 2 cm deep? Time to water! Plants like the Monstera want the top layer to dry out between waterings, while a Fern prefers moist soil.

  • Tip: Use a watering can with a narrow spout for precise watering and avoid wet leaves to prevent mold.

Artificial plants: No water needed! A quick dust with a soft, dry cloth will keep them fresh.

4. Humidity and temperature

Tropical plants like the Calathea or Alocasia love higher humidity. Occasionally mist their leaves with water or place a bowl of water nearby.

  • Tip: In winter, indoor air can be dry due to heating. Group plants or use a humidifier for extra comfort.

Artificial plants: No worries about humidity – they always stay green, regardless of the environment.

5. Nutrition for growth

Feed your plants liquid plant food every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Follow the instructions on the packaging to prevent overfeeding.

  • Tip: In autumn and winter, most plants need less food as they are dormant.

Artificial plants: No feeding needed – enjoy their maintenance-free beauty!

6. Maintenance and love

Pruning: Remove dead or yellow leaves with clean scissors to keep your plant healthy.

Cleaning: Dust your plants with a soft, damp cloth for a shiny result. This also helps them absorb light better.

Artificial plants: A quick wipe with a dry cloth is enough to make them look new.

7. Pet-friendly plants

Do you have pets? Choose pet-friendly plants like the Calathea, Banana Plant, or Spider Plant. These are safe for your furry friends. Always check the product information on our site to be sure.

  • Tip: Keep plants out of reach of curious paws if you're unsure whether they are safe.

8. Troubleshooting

Yellow leaves? Probably too much water or too little light. Check the location and let the soil dry out a bit more.

Drooping leaves? This could indicate too little water or a too cold spot. Adjust the care and give your plant some extra attention.

Artificial plants: No problems here! They always stay perfect, no matter what.
